The energy work I do is an amalgam of a few different types of healing work.  I incorporate aspects of Qigong, craniosacral therapy, and acupressure.  Over the course of nearly two decades working with these modalities I have found a balanced blend of healing that addresses and works to release some of the biggest blocks to health and well being. These sessions are often deeply relaxing and can create significant change on the mind, body and spirit

What is Qigong?

Qigong is essentially the cultivation or mastery of Qi (energy).  This cultivation can happen in stillness or in movement with conscious awareness and conscious intent.  A practitioner may help facilitate the cultivation and movement of Qi in the body during a session.  In a typical session I focus on specific energy centers (with light touch or just off the body) to build Qi and move Qi throughout the body.  This has the effect of opening and unblocking areas that are stuck. Once energy is flowing the body can reset and move into a different way of being.

What is CranioSacral?

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Using a soft touch practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system.  CST is often uses as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and its effectiveness for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

The central nervous system is heavily influenced by the craniosacral system which is the membranes and fluid that surround, protect and nourish the brain and spinal cord.  Every day your body endures stresses and strains. These often cause body tissues to tighten and restricts the craniosacral system.  The restrictions then cause tension to form around the brain and spinal cord resulting in blocks of flow.  This can create a barrier to the healthy performance of the central nervous system, and potentially every other system it interacts with.

Utilizing light touch with one’s hands craniosacral therapy works with the craniosacral system to release restrictions or blocks to flow and rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid pulsing around the brain and spinal cord. By normalizing the environment around the brain and spinal cord and encouraging the body’s ability to self correct, craniosacral therapy is able to alleviate a wide variety of dysfunctions, from chronic pain and sports injuries to neurological impairment.

What is Acupressure?

Acupressure is a way of working with the meridian system to create change in the mind, body and spirit. By applying pressure to different acupuncture points, or gateways, one is able to relieve blocks and tensions stored throughout the body.  Allowing the free flow of energy throughout the meridian system brings the body back into balance.  Safely and effectively.
