Heart Sutra Mala with Charm
Heart Sutra Mala with Charm
This listing is for a hand-knotted mala and made with love. A mala is a set of Buddhist prayer beads, sometimes called a Japamala. Japa is the meditative repetition of a mantra or divine name, using the beads of the mala to keep count of the repetitions.
This mala has 108 beads, aligning to the traditional number, plus a guru bead. The number 108 has religious significance in many Hindu and Buddhist traditions, including the number of Upanishads or Scriptures of the Vedas (108), and the 12 zodiac houses multiplied by the 9 planets (108). When we recite or repeat a mantra 108 times, it is said we are actually remembering the entire universe.
This mala was made with the following beads: Crackle Quartz, White Jade, Howlite, Tree Agate, Green Aventurine, Green Opal, Azurite Malachite, Sandalwood, Silk (for tassel), and silver Love charm.
The Heart Sutra mala resonates to the heart chakra and has been attuned to the frequency of the Heart Sutra. It is ideal for mantras designed to open your heart to Love of any kind.
To use it, you may hold it while meditating, use it for counting recitations of a mantra, set it at the head of your yoga mat while practicing, or simply wear it around your neck or wrist.
